Rational Travel recently discovered an incredibly cheap flight deal: Korean Air Taipei-Busan round trip for only $8,200, tax-inclusive, covering the summer period from May to September 2025. It’s shocking to see a full-service airline compress prices to this level. The budget tickets are concentrated in May-September, with availability even during the peak summer months of July-August. Although the return flight time is early, you might need to leave Busan a bit earlier, but at $8,200 to fly Korean Air—a five-star airline—including 20kg baggage and in-flight meals, the value for money is absolutely explosive. Compared to budget airlines’ summer fares that easily exceed $10,000, this price is basically the floor for full-service carriers.
After Korean Air’s acquisition of Asiana Airlines, the company is undergoing brand remodeling with a minimalist new logo incorporating the Taegeuk flag and propeller elements. The website and uniforms have been refreshed, looking more contemporary. Flights are operated with A330 or 737-900 aircraft. The Taipei-Busan route takes approximately 2 hours, with comfortable conditions for short-haul travel.
