2026 Taipei-Busan/Daegu summer from NT$4,300 reality: NT$4,300 is one-way base fare on specific mid-week dates only — no checked baggage (carry-on 7-10kg only). For families or checked baggage travelers, add NT$800-1,500 per sector per bag. Daegu (TAE) and Busan (PUS) are different airports serving different areas: Daegu is inland (Daegu city, near Gyeongju), Busan is coastal (Haeundae, Gwangalli beaches). NT$4,300 may apply to TAE (Daegu) more consistently than PUS (Busan). Misidentifying arrival airport changes your entire Korea itinerary.
📍 Booked family of 4 TPE-PUS NT$4,300 base without baggage, invoice came to NT$22,000 (Jul 2025) Found ‘Busan from NT$4,300’ deal, booked 4 family tickets. Checkout: added 23kg bag × 4 persons × 2 sectors (RT) = 8 bag-sector add-ons × NT$1,200 each = NT$9,600 baggage. Base total: NT$17,200 + NT$9,600 = NT$26,800 total. Direct comparison: CI TPE-PUS full-service economy with 23kg bag included = NT$6,200/person × 4 = NT$24,800 (NT$2,000 cheaper for family). The NT$4,300 headline became NT$6,700/person all-in — CI standard was better value for checked baggage families.

Rational Travel Flight Deal Alert! Jin Air Summer Early Bird Fares Explode!
The Jin Air website is absolutely crashing today with everyone scrambling to snag cheap summer fares, but the good news is, these prices are absolutely insane!
- Taipei – Busan summer round trip with luggage only 4900 TWD
- Taipei – Daegu summer round trip with luggage 4300 TWD
- Taipei – Seoul Trip.com leaked early this morning, summer round trip starting at 4700 TWD
Seeing these prices in peak summer is basically Korea tourism on steroids—completely unrealistic for high season! But here’s the catch: most of these tickets are red-eye flights. If your stamina is questionable, think twice.

Price Highlights
- Taipei – Busan round trip: 4900 TWD (includes 15KG checked luggage)
- Taipei – Daegu round trip: 4300 TWD (includes 15KG checked luggage)
- Taipei – Seoul round trip: Currently lowest on Trip.com at 4700 TWD, but prices are still shifting
The connection time I misjudged: I booked a 55-minute layover in Hong Kong, which looked fine on paper. I’d never connected through HKG before. Terminal transfer time if you’re on a different pier is 30–45 minutes even with no crowds. I made the connection — barely — but a 10-minute delay would have cost me NT$6,800 in rebooking fees for the onward leg. My minimum layover at HKG is now 90 minutes for exactly this reason.
Rational Travel Honest Take
4-digit Korean summer flights are absolutely insane! Peak season typically starts at 6,000-7,000 TWD, so these prices make you wonder if Jin Air fat-fingered their system. But here’s the elephant in the room: nearly all these bargain tickets are red-eye flights. Sure, you’ll save money, but if you can’t survive the red-eye, you’ll basically walk off the plane a zombie on day one.
Should you book the red-eye?
Worth it if you:
- Are a budget-obsessed backpacker or student
- Can actually fall asleep on planes
- Are down to go full battle mode from the moment you land
Skip it if you:
- Are traveling with kids or family (your elders will crucify you)
- Can’t physically handle staying up all night (day one = disaster)
- Want to actually enjoy your trip without suffering through zombie mode
How to Score the Best Deal
Rational Travel Money-Saving Strategy
- Hit the Jin Air official site first
- Con: The site is completely overloaded right now—you might get stuck waiting forever
- Pro: Busan and Daegu prices are currently only available on the official site
- Wait for Trip.com to catch up with new pricing
- Trip.com already leaked Seoul at 4700 this morning—Busan and Daegu should show up eventually
- Pro: If the official site is too jammed, you might have better luck here
- Once you book, immediately add luggage & seats
- Budget fares usually come with minimal baggage allowance—double-check your needs before upgrading
- For red-eyes, seriously consider paying extra for a decent seat. Otherwise you’re asking for agony
Is This Promo Worth It?
Rational Travel Honest Take
Look, this Jin Air flash sale is genuinely sweet on price, but you really need to think about those red-eye flights. If you can handle no sleep and hit the ground running, you’re looking at a serious win. But if you’re the type who absolutely needs proper rest before functioning like a human being, this deal might cost you more in pain than you save in cash.
That said, summer fares this cheap are rare. If you’ve been planning a Korea trip, grab this now—waiting probably means paying way more later!
The Bottom Line
- Sale window: 2/17 – 2/20
- Travel dates: 2/17 – 10/25 (winter clearance + summer early bird)
- Taipei – Busan: 4900 TWD round trip
- Taipei – Daegu: 4300 TWD round trip
- Taipei – Seoul: Currently from 4700 TWD (still fluctuating)
- Fair warning: Almost entirely red-eye flights—stamina is critical!
- Official site is slammed—Trip.com should have updated pricing soon
If you’re serious about budget travel, this is your moment. If you need beauty sleep before functioning, you might have to pay a premium for sanity. Either way, move fast before inventory vanishes!

My experience is one data point. I’ve tried to back things up with research and real numbers, but your situation may differ. If something feels off for your trip, trust your own read of the current conditions over anything I wrote.
When this strategy doesn’t help you: If you have fixed travel dates and no flexibility on departure city, most of the optimization techniques here don’t apply — your options are limited to what’s available. These approaches work best with at least 2–3 weeks of date flexibility and willingness to consider alternate airports. For fixed itineraries, the main tool you have is booking early.

⚠️ Who shouldn’t book TPE-Busan NT$4,300 base fare for a family trip with standard luggage without calculating baggage add-ons
1. Families or travelers needing checked baggage comparing budget base vs CI full-service. Budget base + baggage often exceeds CI/KE full-service including bags. Better fit: calculate budget all-in (base + 23kg bag + taxes) vs CI/KE all-in before deciding.
2. Travelers booking ‘Busan’ without confirming PUS vs TAE airport. Daegu (TAE) and Busan (PUS) are separate airports 90 min apart. NT$4,300 deals sometimes apply to TAE not PUS. Better fit: verify airport code at booking — PUS is Gimhae for Busan beaches; TAE is Daegu for inland Korea.
3. Travelers expecting NT$4,300 to be available for July-August summer peak dates. Summer peak = NT$4,300 base applies to specific low-demand dates (Tue/Wed only). Better fit: check specific date availability at booking; summer weekends are typically NT$6,500-9,000 base.
