📍 Used Germany VPN to book CI Europe flight expecting EUR pricing to be cheaper, wasted 2 hours, fare was identical at checkout (Mar 2026) Read ‘use VPN to get cheaper airline prices’ article. Used German VPN to access CI website expecting EUR-based fare to beat NT$-based fare. CI website switched to EUR display. EUR price converted back to TWD at checkout: identical to direct NT$ price ± NT$50 (exchange rate rounding). Spent 2 hours testing 6 VPN locations. Final result: CI fare difference between all tested locations = NT$0-120. VPN works for regional price segmentation carriers (AirAsia Malaysia vs AirAsia Taiwan URLs are actually different products).
