Seat selection for KHH-Bangkok base fare = not included (pay NT$200-400 for preferred rows). Also: KHH Thai Lion Air counter location is in a different check-in zone from main airlines — arrive at the correct terminal zone.
📍 Booked Thai Lion Air KHH-Bangkok expecting Suvarnabhumi (BKK) arrival (Jan 2026) Searched ‘Bangkok airport’ hotels near Suvarnabhumi T1. Booked KH hotel 2km from BKK. Arrived in Bangkok at Don Mueang (DMK) — the wrong airport. DMK-to-central-Bangkok shuttle: 45 min + NT$400 taxi vs BKK MRT 20 min + NT$80. Ended up paying an extra NT$900 total ground transport round-trip and adding 50 min each way because I assumed ‘Bangkok’ meant BKK. Always confirm which Bangkok airport Thai Lion Air KHH operates before booking hotels.

What I got wrong about luggage fees: I booked a budget carrier at what looked like a NT$3,900 savings over the full-service airline. I hadn’t checked luggage fees. The route required a checked bag. Budget carrier checked bag fee: NT$2,100 each way. NT$4,200 in fees versus the full-service airline’s included baggage. I ended up paying NT$300 more than the “expensive” option for a less comfortable flight.

1. Travelers with hotels or connections at Suvarnabhumi BKK. Thai Lion Air KHH uses Don Mueang DMK. Better fit: book hotel near DMK or budget 60 min + NT$400 transfer; or use CX/EVA/CI KHH-BKK for Suvarnabhumi arrival.
2. Travelers expecting included checked baggage on base fare. Thai Lion Air KHH base fare = carry-on only (7kg). 20kg add-on NT$600-900 per sector. Better fit: calculate all-in with baggage vs CI/EVA KHH-Bangkok which often includes 23kg.
3. Travelers with tight connections in Bangkok to domestic Thai flights. DMK operates domestic Thai flights (AirAsia, Nok Air) but not all Bangkok transit connections. Better fit: check your onward Thai flight airport before booking — some routes only at BKK.
