I’m Rational Travel. After publishing my last newsletter “Hongdae Hotel Showdown,” a few hotels literally crashed their booking systems because of my “honest reviews.” Sorry, that’s just how I roll—I judge hotels on whether you actually sleep well and whether getting around with a stroller won’t make you want to curse. This piece is written for parents who are “budget-conscious, quality-obsessed, and don’t want to exhaust themselves commuting from some far-flung corner.”💡 Money-Saving Tip: When clicking the link on mobile, try “long press → open in new tab” to avoid auto-redirecting to the app and jacking up the price. You can sync it with your own account after booking anyway, no problem 🙌
By the way, the table below is my distilled breakdown—I’d suggest screenshotting it for later, or just subscribe to my newsletter to save yourself the hunting time.| Name | Operating Info/Applicability | Price Range | Booking Link |

Rational Travel’s Hands-On Review:
This hotel gets polarized online—I’ve read over 500 reviews and stayed there myself. Here’s the verdict: it’s your textbook “high-efficiency utility hotel.” If you’re expecting the luxury treatment with a welcome drink at the door, bellhops fussing over your luggage, and warm greetings, you picked the wrong place. The sink is right off the entrance hallway, and once you open two 29-inch suitcases, getting to the bathroom basically requires practiced parkour—no joke, you’re literally stepping over luggage. If your feet aren’t high enough, you’ll kick the wheels.
Location & Convenience: Living at the Intersection of Department Stores and Train Stations
Honestly, the location is killer. If you’re someone who *must* shop every time you go out, you’re surrounded—Lotte Department Store next door, Shinsegae across the street. I was too lazy to venture far one day, hit the underground mall, came back with armfuls of bags in three minutes. Shopping addicts should be drooling by now.
Is It Really That Close to the Metro?
Don’t let the website photos fool you. Yeah, it’s near Yeongdeungpo Station, but when you’re pushing a stroller, hunting for elevators, dodging crowds, and navigating around phone-zombies, that “three minutes” becomes “ten minutes.” And the foot traffic at Yeongdeungpo is messy—you’ll see ajummas hanging around sipping soju, with the smell of cigarettes and alcohol wafting past. If you’re a mom with kids, stick to the main streets on the way back to the hotel at night. Don’t duck down alleys. It’s not dangerous per se, but the vibe will give you the creeps.- Operating Hours: 24-hour front desk
- Price Range: Around 3,000 TWD per night
- Why We Recommend It: Surrounded by shopping districts, no need to carry bags far.
